Bubble Ferry Ride

It's been awhile since I finished a LO. I love this one! I worked with sketch 249 over at Scrapbook Challenges.

I tried my hand at a funky angle pic to show the dimensions a little...

Thanks for looking, happy Monday!

Happy B-Day Card

Today is my last real day of Spring Break, so I got some scrapping in. Still trying to figure out the best way to take pics:

I LOVE the color combo at Color Throwdown right now:

I had so much fun with them. Then of course I had to do Sketch 81 over at Get Sketchy:

Thanks for looking, have a great rest of your weekend!

Long Morning Hike

I've posted so much already this Spring Break! Yay for recharging the batteries!

My most recent layout is from Sketch 246 over at Scrapbook Challenges.

I liked this sketch a lot, and I'm pretty happy with the outcome-I tend to be more proud of my simple things.
Now if only I could figure out how to get better pictures of my stuff!
thanks for looking!

Happy Anniversary: The Paper Players

Yay, Spring break! So much scrapping happening!

John and I are celebrating our anniversary in a couple weeks, and I made him a card using the sketch challenge over at The Paper Players: #39 Clean and Simple.

It's so sunny right now, I had an impossible time getting a decent picture of it! The printed part is a cut out border, with the blue and the hemp knots underneath/behind. Something new that was tricky but fun to play with.

Two Birthday Cards

Yay for Spring Break! There are so many glorious hours in the day when I only have one full time responsibility, instead of two. I love school and my job is great, but I can't wait for our huge 7 month trip where I won't be doing either of them!

Anyways, free time means more scrapping. Here are my most recent two cards...
My mom got the card in the mail yesterday, so I can post a picture now :). I shouldn't reveal a lady's age, but it ended in a "0" so it's a big one. I tried some new things, like with the twine, beads and painting.

I'm pretty excited about it and my mom loved it :)

Then I challenged myself by combining challenges and made a card for my sister Lila. (Or, I think I'll give it to her, it's still a month and a half away.) Her birthday ALSO ends in a zero this year-30.

So the challenges that inspired me:
First, I saw the colors over at ColorQ (#77) and immediately thought of Lila-she loves blue.

But I thought "meh, it's too soon to make a card for her!" But then I saw the challenge happening at Tuesday Morning Sketches. Now, I hope this still counts-the challenge was clean and simple-and child themed. Since she's turning 30 I know she's not a child age-wise, but she is develop-mentally disabled, so she still likes children things. In my mind she's a big kid.

And, lastly, because I like seeing how many challenges I can combine on one card, I snatched a layout from over at Get Sketchy (#79) again.

Whew! Long post today. Again, yay for Spring break!

Broken Zipper

Here's a layout I made from some pictures from our camping trip. The zipper on our brand new sleeping bag broke the first time we tried to zip it! We couldn't fix it for the life of us and it just kept getting worse. So, I put the broken pieces on a scrapbook page haha

The layout is lifted from the March POTW over at Scrapbook Challenges, week 3.
Thanks for looking!

Here's to You!

My latest project-or, latest finished project. I have a couple layouts I'm working on that I'm a little stumped with.

The inside:

This card was inspired by a couple challenges. The layout is from CPS-Card Sketches #210. I knew I needed to use it as soon as I saw it-I love using my corner rounder, I would use it on every layout if it didn't get old!

The colors I got from The Play Date Cafe's color challenge #73. I love their color challenges. This one is girly without hurting your eyes or looking like a little girl's closet. Love it!

I made this card for my best friend Lilly. She was recently diagnosed with Cervical Cancer at the young, childless age of 25. They've caught it early, so her chances of survival or 90%+, however her chances of bearing children will be very, very unlikely. All she's wanted in life is to have a big family like the one she came from, so this is a heartbreaking diagnosis. I'm going to mail this snail-mail and hopefully bring a smile to a day in the near future.
Thank you all for looking, I hope you have a wonderful week!

Life is Beautiful

I just keep going back to the sketch challenges over at Get Sketchy! This one is for #77, it's a "Happy baby!" card for my cousin Brandy and her beautiful new baby girl. Also, I finally got a circle cutter, and in case you can't tell, I'm pretty excited about it :)

Thanks for looking! Have a great Wednesday :)

Ready for Spring

I finally got my pictures in the mail from the camping trip John and I took and I'm working on some layouts. I used a couple challenges to create this one.

The journalling is all about all the things that went wrong on our camping trip haha. It was still fun, but it was FREEZING, and a super long hike, broken zippers, raccoon thieves, etc.

So, the challenges I used are the By the Numbers Challenge on Scrapbook Challenges. Part of it was 2 printed papers, and the base blue paper her is actually printed, but it didn't show up in the picture :( It's kinda like a sponge painted texture.
The Layout and color inspiration are from Sketchy Thursdays. The challenge was also to use spring colors-I know to most people spring is pastels-pinks, yellows...to me (probably because I live in Seattle) Spring is rain and allergies. But also some pretty flowers :)
And, lastly, the Paper Players have a Spring is Sprung challenge going on. My page is all about wanting Spring and warmer weather already! So I think it counts :)
Thanks for looking!

Thank you Color Splash

Cards, cards card! This week's Play Date Cafe's Color Splash inspired me to finally use this pretty black paper I've been dying to use. It's a pretty simple card. I've been feeling the simple lately...

Head on over to The Play Date Cafe to see all the other splashes of color happening!

Thanks sunshine!

Waiting for the photos in the mail, working on more cards...

I need to find a trick for taking better photos of my things! The button there is coffee brown, and the colors should be more vibrant.
This one was to play with my new punch I found on sale. This one can go with the color challenge at The Play Date Cafe AND the color challenge at ColourQ! It's funny when they end up similar like that. Only, I didn't post this by the end of yesterday, so the only contest still valid is the ColourQ one.

Ladybug Hugs!

Working on cards has turned out to be great for my busy schedule. I can rarely sit down for more than an hour, and photo layouts can get so involved.
So, I made a little card with some ladybug things I have:

And I've been experimenting with doing things inside too:

This started from the Get Sketchy Card Challenge #76...it evolved to being a bit different, but I think it still counts!

Thanks for looking, I hope you have a great day!

2 cards

Oh boy I've been so busy I've hardly been able to scrap! Finally set aside some time the last couple days and made some quick little cards.

I have some photos I just sent to get printed from a camping trick John and I took. I'm excited to do some pages from them :)
Have a nice Sunday!

I tried my hand at making some flowers:

Happy Valentines Day!

Space Needle

Here's my latest LO, of pictures from when my brother Aidan visited and we went to Seattle Center and the Space Needle. The photo isn't showing the letters very well, but the bottom blue paper has silver letters that just says "Aidan and Amber".

The ticket is in a little pocket on the side :)

I did this LO with the Scrapbook Challenges Scraplifting challenge, and Play Date Cafe's color challenge:

Get Sketchy Card Challenges: Sketch 72

Here's a simple card I made today instead of studying, using a sketch from Get Sketchy Card Challenges.

It's a "no good reason" card, I couldn't decide what sort of sentiment to put on it so I just left it blank. Head on over to Get Sketchy and see what the other lovely ladies are doing with this simple sketch.

Seymour Dog

I love the sketches they have at Scrapbook Challenges. This one is Sketch 236.

I don't have kids to scrap about haha, so I end up with lots of pet pages:

Snow Dog

We had snow for a single night a couple weeks ago. Seymour went nuts! We went to a park where there were tons of people and dogs playing in the snow. Seymour was rubbing his body in the snow, chasing snowballs and running with the other dogs. It was really cute. We tried to put a sweater on him but it quickly got soggy and came off.
I used sketch 237 from Scrapbook Challenges.

I love....

So I'm too late to be considered part of the blog hop part of this challenge, but I wanted to make it and post it anyways.
CardPatterns: Sketch 98

Here's my take, which I made for my boyfriend John. The inside was a list of things I love about him :)

Newbie! / I Will See America in 2011

I'm new to the world of scrapbooking. I've been dabbling in it for the last 3 years or so, but just in the last couple months I've decided "Why not?" and I've dived in head first. I haven't taken to a hobbie this fast or with this much enthusiasm since...well, probably since my Lord of the Rings obsession in high school. I love how it combines my life-long loves of journaling, pretty papers, fun stickers, photography, and chronicling, cherishing and sharing memories. I'm not sure how far I'll go with this blog, but it seems like fun!
This is my most recent L/O, for the January Word Prompt Challenge on Scrapbook Challenges: http://scrapbookchallenges.ning.com/forum/topics/112-word-prompt-challenge

My boyfriend and I are planning a great American road trip, for which we are working hard planning and saving and we are VERY excited.
